We are closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Stores may also close due to inclement weather. Please check with the store in your area. We will gladly accept your donations during store operating hours.
In every store-every week, thousands of items are sorted, priced, re-cycled or placed into storage by the production team in our “back room”. The amount of incoming donations changes daily, as do styles and seasons. The question usually is; what is an item worth? What price should I put on it? This decision is made over 20,000 times in every store, every week.
Once an item has passed several quality checks it becomes ready to price. We price items on colored tags which helps us identify how long it has been on the sales floor. Five color tags are used at Arc on a rotating basis. A different tag color is used each week, therefore, every five weeks the color sequence repeats. All departments use the same color for the week. The tag color changes every Wednesday morning, which is then referred to as our “current tag”. Items tagged four weeks prior are on sale at 50% off for the week. This is the last chance to buy these items before they are removed from the sales floor. Items that have not sold by the end of the selling cycle are processed thru our re-cycle program where they are exported to other countries.
We occasionally use “green” color tags that are placed on new purchased products or perhaps on unusual, vintage or collectable items. Items priced with a “green” color tag are not available for a discount.
The challenge of the production team members is to determine the value for the thousands of items they handle daily. They consider quality, condition, style, brand name, seasonality, uniqueness and rarity to determine an item’s price. The majority of the items we price fall into a price range by department. It is important to remember, we have the one of a kind, unique items that you will not see anywhere else. We don’t have racks upon racks of the same styles. Whether it’s vintage, retro, weird or just plain basic, you won’t find hundreds of them on our floors. Our items don’t run in herds, they stand alone.
While the majority of our merchandise is gently used, we also purchase some new products to sell in our stores. This includes high quality, brand new mattress, boxes and bed frames at a very competitive price. We carry an assortment of new greeting cards along with a large selection miscellaneous home and personal products ranging from batteries to band aids and reading glasses to yard art. These pick me up items usually sell from $1 to $2.
For Halloween we purchase a huge selection of costume accessories like make-up, masks, wigs, wands, wings, weapons, funky eye wear, gloves, hats, eyelashes and much more to complete your one of a kind costume idea. You will also find fun and spooky decorating items. The “new purchase” products are what we call our “green tag” items and are not discounted.
We have created an atmosphere of a large, clean, well organized, well stocked and customer oriented place to shop. To make your shopping experience easy, fun and carefree, we have divided our stores into eleven departments for the various types of merchandise we sell. These include: men’s clothing, ladies clothing, children’s clothing, accessories, shoes, jewelry, linens, house-wares, books, toys and furniture. To make shopping easier for you, we put the actual size of the clothing items on the color tag, and arranged it on the sales floor so you can easily find what you are looking for in your size.
We produce an enormous selection of merchandise for you and make it a practice to examine items for safety purposes before offering it for sale. However, due to the enormous amount of donations we process, we encourage you, especially when shopping for children’s items, to visit the following product safety sites before making a purchase from any thrift store.

If you need to return an item, for whatever reason, please return it to the store where it was purchased within ten days of the purchase date. We will be happy to issue an in-store merchandise credit. We ask that you have your original receipt along with the original tag still attached to the item. We cannot issue cash or credit card refunds. Your merchandise credit is valid for one year from the date of issue and will be honored at any Arc Thrift Store in Colorado.
We are sorry but TV’s, computers, monitors are sold as is and may not be returned. Opened bags of merchandise are also not returnable.
Items without tags or altered tags will not be sold. These items will be returned to our production area where it will be re-priced, and returned to the sales floor the next day.
We gladly accept checks (with proper ID), Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express credit cards. We also accept debit cards. Yes, we even take cash!
We provide dressing rooms for men and women in every store. We ask that you limit the number of garments to 6 or less at a time. Unwanted items may be hung back on the rack provided outside the fitting room area. We appreciate your help!
Is it hard to find that right gift for someone? What a great idea for all the “thrifters” in your life. We sell gift certificates in $5.00 denominations. Ask any team member for details.
Because of the tremendous amount of product that flows thru our store daily we are not able to hold merchandise at this time.
Our stores are staffed with store managers, an assistant store manager or production supervisor, night supervisors and relief supervisors. Anyone on the management staff will be glad to answer any question you might have regarding store policy, pricing and our donation process. They will help make your shopping experience a pleasant one.
