55: Eclectic Thrifting and Refashioning with Sadie Fox Metter
“I sometimes think of thrift stores as craft stores, as resources where I am going to find something to use to create something else.”
Sadie Fox Metter owns Sadie Fox Studio, which creates small batch, one-of-kind, custom and up-cycled vintage treasures for body and home. She sells on Etsy, Instagram, and at The Painted Tree in Northglenn, Colorado. She is a third-generation Coloradan and has been crafting and sewing for as long as she can remember. She spent over a decade living in New York City where she was inspired by high-end fashion designers, the garment district, theater, street fashion, indie boutiques, and flea markets. She now lives in Lakewood, Colorado, is married to a graphic designer, and has two beautiful and creative teenagers. She loves to decorate her mid-mod home, thrift shop, refinish old furniture, spend time with friends and family, travel, and wear big earrings.
