212: Struggling to Stand Out as a Reseller? Learn How a Thrifting Pro Makes It Happen, feat. Katie
“Put yourself out there, don’t take yourself too seriously, and just start!”
Katie is the owner and operator of the online store, Middle Child Vintage based out of Burlington, Ontario (about an hour outside of Toronto) and she also run’s the Instagram page, The Thrifter’s Club, where Katie shares the BTS of being a full-time reseller and creates digital content to help normalize & spread awareness about the benefits of secondhand shopping.
Katie, a former corporate auditor/CPA, turned craft beer sommelier, started Middle Child Vintage in the midst of the pandemic as a side hustle after returning home from briefly living in New Zealand. Within a year, she turned her creative outlet into her full-time job. Middle Child Vintage has become more than just an online shop, it’s a celebration of individuality, mindful shopping, and community.
A year later she started the Thrifter’s Club and now both platforms have fostered meaningful connections with a community of like-minded individuals who love to thrift, are champions of sustainability and normalizing secondhand.
